The Little Things

This is one of my favorite pictures. My friend, Shelby, had just lit the boy's candles and they were making a wish for their birthday year. After they blew out the flames, we read to them this Scripture:
"My son(s), if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding."
Proverbs 2:1-6
In our class at the orphanage, every birthday boy and girl is given a blessing and a Scripture. It only takes a few minutes but we are convinced they feel it in their hearts and will hold onto it for a lifetime. We want them to know how special they are and how much God loves them.
It seems like such a little thing.
